According to a report published on MAN's website, the company will deliver 116,000 vehicles to its customers in 2023, up 37 percent on the previous year.    MAN achieved the biggest increase in the truck business, selling 83.7 thousand vehicles, 44 percent more than the previous year.    Bus sales were also up, by 19 per cent, with 5,700 city and long-distance buses sold together. In particular, sales of coaches more than doubled to 1,100 vehicles, compared with a base that had fallen as a result of the pandemic.    After winning several tenders for electric city buses, MAN sold 771 electric buses in 2023, up from 263 in 2022.

By 2030, MAN plans to sell half of its trucks and around 90 percent of its new city buses with battery electric drive. The company is also planning a prototype electric long-distance bus.

In the van business, MAN's sales last year reached a record high, exceeding the pre-pandemic level: 26.6 thousand units were sold, 23 percent more than the previous year.

In sales of engines for installation in other vehicles and power equipment, MAN had its second most successful year after 2014 with 11.6 thousand units. More than half of these engines were installed in agricultural machinery such as tractors and combine harvesters.

According to Friedrich Baumann, Director of Sales and Customer Relations at MAN Truck & Bus SE, the company is "back on the road to success after some very difficult years". Commenting on the sales figures, he attributed the success to an innovative product portfolio and a customer-focused service profile, which has led to record sales in some business areas.
